Form/Counter-form Project

Form/Counterform

For this piece we were given the task to create six interesting compositions out of six typefaces. These typefaces include, stempel garamond lt std roman, bauer bodoni std 1 roman, rockwell std regular, futura std medium, helvetica lt std roman, and platelet. From there we were given the opportunity to choose a letter from the alphabet that we thought would look interesting once enlarged/warped. For my compositions, I chose to enlarge each letter on what I saw as the most interesting parts of the letter.
My favorite composition from the project. I like the way that the letters/forms flow and I feel it is the most interesting out of the 6 compositions.
This composition is made from the font Stempel Garamond Lt Std Roman. This font is sharp, majestic, and sophisticated. This font could be found on your local newspaper.
This composition is made from the font Bauer Bodoni Std 1 Roman. This font is carefree, fun, and outgoing. It reminds me of calligraphy, which is tedious.
This composition is made from the font Rockwell Std Regular. This font is sharp, structured, traditional, and bold. You would see this font on a poster hanging in the halls.
This composition is made from the font Futura Std Medium. This font is bold, structured, and sophisticated. It looks a bit traditional, but has it’s little unique personality to differ it from other fonts.
This composition is made from the font Helvetica Lt Std Roman. This font is standard, skinny, and bold. You might find this font on a “missing pet” poster.
This composition is made from the font Platelet. This font is loose, fun, and carefree. This font would describe the fun person in the friend group with a witty personality.
